Evaluation of cover:
What I’ve learned:
How to edit the resolution of the file to have a better quality document on Photoshop. How to create then click and drag photos onto a blank cover. Using ‘command T’ to enlarge photos and to use the shift button to stop the photo from distorting or stretching. To view rulers and put margins on Photoshop use ‘command R’. I learned a shortcut to the layers windows click F7.

I was able to use fx window to do range of new effects on text e.g. drop shadow ,embevel and emboss and stroke(change colour) I then added a barcode by copying an image onto my magazine cover. Also about portrait and landscape mode.I found it easy choosing and inserting the texts,yet very hard changing the colours and using the layers bar. The eye line was perfect as i used the rule of thirds so the model engages with the reader.The text was also in mostly dark block colours alike to the Kerrang magazine i was inspiring from,the greens and purples used are quite gothic or 'emo' which relates to the punk or heavy metal image of the magazine i was creating.
The background was an earthy,light green nature themed background to incorporate a summer/festival themed style to the front cover which would link in with the target audiences interests.
My subject/model was very fast at understanding the pop rock image and composure i wanted him to take. I felt my people skills were good and i was precise yet clear with how i wanted the poses to be captured. I also learned how to zoom and focus on the camera which was especially helpful with the task,as i could get a good quality close-up shot of my model for the front cover.
Critical self-analysis of the front cover;
I would try improve the look of the cover by using less colours and keeping to the 3 colour rule of magazines stereotypically. I would experiment getting making the texts more interesting with the fx button using different depths of emboss and glow.I would try and focus more on the lighting from the side as one side of the models face is darker than the other which looks unprofessional although a reader could interpret it as a 'darker' side to the model which would be a good metaphorical effect for a front cover as it draws the reader in.
